This part of IEC 60502 specifies the construction, dimensions and test requirements of power
cables with extruded solid insulation for rated AC voltages of 1 kV (Um = 1,2 kV) and 3 kV
(Um = 3,6 kV) for fixed installations such as distribution networks or industrial installations.
Cables of rated AC voltage 1 kV (Um = 1,2 kV) designed and tested in accordance with this
document can also be used, if declared by the manufacturer, in DC distribution systems having
their nominal voltage ≤ 750 V DC (with a maximum of 900 V DC) between a live conductor and
neutral/earth, or ≤ 1 500 V DC (with a maximum 1 800 V DC) between two live conductors.
Applicable core identification for DC systems are considered in accordance with local
installation regulations.

This International Standard deals with the safety of electrical appliances for household and similar purposes, their rated voltage being not more than 250 V for single-phase appliances and 480 V for other appliances including direct current (DC) supplied appliances and battery operated appliances.
Appliances not intended for normal household use but which nevertheless may be a source of danger to the public, such as appliances intended to be used by laymen in shops, in light industry and on farms, are within the scope of this standard.
This standard deals with the reasonably foreseeable hazards presented by appliances that are encountered by all persons. However, in general, it does not take into account: – persons (including children) whose
• physical, sensory or mental capabilities; or
• lack of experience and knowledge prevents them from using the appliance safely without supervision or instruction; – children playing with the appliance.
Additional requirements may be necessary for appliances intended to be used in vehicles or on board ships or aircraft. In many countries, additional requirements are specified by the national health authorities, the national authorities responsible for the protection of labour, the national water supply authorities and similar authorities.

This document provides guidelines for the management of wastewater utilities and the assessment of wastewater services.
This document is applicable to publicly and privately owned and operated wastewater utilities but does not favour any particular ownership or operational model.
NOTE 1 Wastewater is always generated when water is used or consumed. Accordingly, sources of wastewater can be residential, industrial, commercial or institutional. Collected storm water or (melted) snow can also be considered as wastewater, as it often carries contaminants and pathogens picked up from air or ground surfaces on its way to a collection system. In certain circumstances, especially in undeveloped areas, sanitary waste is collected in an undiluted form.
This document addresses wastewater systems in their entirety and is applicable to systems at any level of development (e.g. pit latrines, on-site systems, networks, treatment facilities).
The following are within the scope of this document:
— the definition of a language common to different stakeholders;
— objectives for the wastewater utility;
— guidelines for the management of wastewater utilities;
— service assessment criteria and related examples of performance indicators, all without setting any target values or thresholds.

The ‘Guide to the expression of uncertainty in measurement’ (GUM) establishes general rules for evaluating and expressing uncertainty in measurement from the shop floor to fundamental research. Therefore, the principles of this suite of documents are intended to be applicable to a broad spectrum of measurements and their applications. An overview of the parts of the GUM is given in table A.1 in Annex A.
NOTE Where the acronym GUM is used in this document, it refers to the suite of documents. An individual part of the GUM is referred to by its corresponding JCGM numbering (e.g., part 6 of the GUM is JCGM GUM-6:2020).
This document gives a rationale for evaluating, expressing and using measurement uncertainty (Clause 2). A brief introduction is given to measurement (Clause 3) and to the decisions involved when evaluating measurement uncertainty (Clause 4). In Clause 5, a brief description of the contents of the parts of the GUM is given. In each of these clauses, the relevant parts of the GUM are identified for further guidance.
